Chiropractic is the third largest primary health care profession in the world after Medicine and Dentistry and is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints and muscles) and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health.
Patients will seek chiropractic care in order to reduce pain and improve their ability to do everyday tasks by improving function.
McTimoney Chiropractic is a highly effective, specific, light and swift technique of adjustments for the spine and limbs of the body. Given its gentle nature it is suitable for people of all ages and provides holistic care from your head to your toes.
During the initial consultation, you will be asked about your medical background, recent and historical symptoms and lifestyle both professional and at leisure. A physical assessment is then undertaken including palpation and movement prior to the formation of a diagnosis. The outcome of the assessment and diagnosis is discussed with you and a treatment plan agreed prior to carrying out any chiropractic adjustments. The majority of initial consultations do include a mini treatment but your follow up appointment will be scheduled at a convenient time in the next few days.

Ongoing Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic has an important role in helping you optimise your health. Chiropractors adopt a holistic approach offering advice on lifestyle as well as how you use your body – aiming to reduce the recurrence of problems. Wherever possible, self-help advice is offered.
Your chiropractor will recommend that you continue with chiropractic care even after the initial condition has resolved. This is done to help your body maintain optimum function and reducing the chance of problems recurring.
