I’m Cara Reeves and I have a Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy with the ISRM (Insitute of Sport and Remedial Massage). I’m also qualified in Swedish and Aromatherapy Massage treatments.

I used to suffer from neck pain and headaches – partly due to my work as a beauty therapist and partly due to all the horse-riding I loved to do whenever I got the opportunity – and found that regular Sports Massages really helped relieve the tension and pain.

For me, having an hour every so often to myself was amazing therapy in itself but of course the main benefits of this treatment for me was getting relief from the pain that had been a constant part of my life at that point.

After a few years of beauty therapy work I went into what I considered a “grown-up” job and had a series of full-time office-based positions including working for the West Berkshire Council. However, after meeting my husband and moving from the area I re-assessed what I was doing with my life and wanted the flexibility of being my own boss.

Initially I had a dog-walking business which was fun but didn’t quite answer the need I felt in me to help others. I’d always enjoyed giving massages as a beauty therapist and loved helping people relax but I wanted to understand more about how the body works and to be able to help with specific injuries and tensions in the body and so I was drawn to learning more about Sports and Remedial Massages.

I trained with the Oxford School of Sports Massage. I found the training fascinating but getting to grips with all the in-depth knowledge was hard work to be honest.  Learning all the latin names for the muscles was a particular challenge! What kept me going was the thought that a whole new way of life was opening up for me and I was going to be able to help so many people in the same way that I had been helped before. Relieving people’s pain and tension and giving them time for themselves to relax and recuperate.

I have helped people with a range of issues including:

  • Knee Pain
  • Back, Neck & Shoulder Pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Bursitis
  • Headaches & Migraines
  • Whip-lash
  • Sciatica
  • Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGB)/SPD
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Rotator Cuff Injuries
