From dream to reality
I’m so excited to be launching our new website and blog! I have had a vision for The Wellbeing Centre for many years and since taking over the centre in June this year I’ve been working hard to make that vision (which seemed impossible and even improbable at times) into a reality. Central to that vision is a passion for helping more people to “Live well. Be well.” as our tag line says, by raising the profile of complementary therapies and improving the accessibility of the therapies and the information about them. Together with a great team of over 20 practitioners who all work here at The Wellbeing Centre that vision, that dream is becoming inevitable.
Our intention is to provide a rich resource for people wishing to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing on this website through information about what is on offer here and how it can help as well as building up a treasure trove of information about health and wellbeing on our blogsite – watch this space!
On the main part of our website you’ll find a page for all the Therapies &Treatments available here at the centre (including Complementary Medicine Systems such as Acupuncture and Shiatsu, Counselling & Coaching therapies including a range of different Talking Therapies and Life Coaching, Remedial & Manipulative therapies such as Osteopathy and Sports & Injury Massage, Energy-based therapies such as Reiki and Crystal Healing, Mind-body therapies such as Hypnotherapy and EFT, Massage Therapies such as Swedish Massage and Indian Head Massage and a range of Beauty Treatments such as Manicures & Pedicures, Tanning and Waxing) including, where appropriate, information about what that therapy is, what it involves for you as a client receiving the treatment and how it can help you. We will be extending this information over the coming weeks as well as adding new therapies and treatments as our team grows so do keep checking back with us!
There is also information about the growing number of Groups & Classes we have on offer in our new studio room including various Gentle Exercise Classes (including Sivananda & Kundalini Yoga), Mum & Baby Groups (such as the lovely Baby Bumpkin – baby yoga classes), Community Groups (lovely to be hosting the new Asian Women’s Group for West Berkshire Minority Ethnic Forum on Monday mornings from 11am as well as the breastfeeding support group, Newbury Breast Friends on Fridays at 10 – 11.30am), and Meditation Groups (with our new Midweek Meditation classes running now on Wednesdays at 12.30pm for a quick midweek pick-me-up).
In addition to these regular classes and groups, we are opening up the centre for a series of Workshops & Events. Whether you want to learn how to give some of the therapy treatments yourself – Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Acupressure Chair Massage, Natural Facelift Massage – or want to find out about how our therapies can help with a specific issue (see Spotlight on ME) – or if you would like help with your journey towards self-realisation and achieving desired goals with our series of Life Coaching Workshops including Embracing the Unknown and Mastering Goal Settings, then The Wellbeing Centre in our central Newbury location is the place to be! Visit us on Saturday 1st December for our Christmas Fair and try out a range of therapies (£10 for a 20minute session or try 3 different therapies for the price of 2 – best to pre-book as we get booked up pretty quick) as well as browsing a selection of craft and gift stalls – the most relaxing shopping experience you can get!
What do you think of the website? What else would you like us to add? What classes, groups, therapies, workshops, etc would you like to see here that we don’t have already? We’re here to provide a resource for the local community so do please let us know what you would like to see here. Drop into our reception during weekdays 9.30am – 2.30pm to speak to a therapist (treatments are also offered outside of these times by appointment), contact us by phone or email or add your comment below – we’d love to hear from you!
