Jenny Thompson

Jenny is a Humanistic Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP), listed on their accredited register. She has experience of working with a wide range of clients from young people to the elderly.

“I trained in Humanistic Counselling as I believe that we all have the inner ability to heal, grow and make changes in our lives. I am passionate about how the counselling process can help people to connect with their potential for healing and growth and empower them to make changes towards a more fulfilling life.

I aim to offer a warm, empathic, confidential, non-judgemental and safe environment in which you can talk about anything, explore your difficulties and consider changes that you might want to make in your life or how to cope with things you cannot change. My role is to listen to you and help you understand your feelings and behaviours. We will work together, at your pace, to enable you to find a way forward that is right for you.

I have experience of working with individuals who have experienced a wide range of emotional issues including low mood or depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement or loss, relationship difficulties, self-harm and bullying.

I specialise in working with young people (13 to 25 years) and have several years of experience working in a charitable youth counselling organisation. I also work as a counsellor in a secondary school.

I have completed further bereavement training with CRUSE Bereavement Care and I work with clients for CRUSE on a voluntary basis.

I offer both short and long-term therapy and we will discuss this at your initial appointment.”
