Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is really deep relaxation, relaxing the Conscious, thinking part of the mind to enable the therapist to tap into an individual’s Subconscious.  The Subconscious is extremely powerful, it is the filing system of an individual, every experience that a person has is all filed away in it.

Hypnotherapy is a deeply relaxing experience and one which addresses a range of emotional, behavioural and even physical issues.

How does Hypnotherapy work?

A hypnotherapist uses hypnosis to give relevant, positive beneficial suggestions to help an individual bring about the change they desire.  Hypnosis is simply a relaxed state of mind during which the individual retains awareness and control and is able to use their imagination fully.

During this relaxed state, techniques can be used to reveal issues from an individual’s past that may be causing them distress, or the approach can be focused more on their present problems.  Hypnotherapists will often combine hypnosis with other psychotherapy and counselling techniques. The techniques used will depend on the issue the individual is seeking help for.

Curative Hypnotherapy is an advanced hypnotherapy technique.  The object of Curative Hypnotherapy is to enable the cause to be uncovered so that it can be corrected. Once the cause is eliminated then the effect (the symptom) cannot continue to exist.  It will therefore continue to disappear until all traces of the symptom are gone.  Each session of Curative Hypnotherapy takes 1 hour and it takes approximately 6 sessions to complete treatment.

What happens in a session?

The first session is spent finding out what the issue is and asking relevant questions to get an idea of what needs to be treated and then hypnosis is used to relax the individual, so that they understand how easy it is and how relaxing it is.   Subsequent sessions are spent using hypnosis to find out and correct what is held in the Subconscious  that is limiting the individual.  Once this is completed, then beneficial suggestions and techniques are given to enable the individual to take control of his/her life.

How can Hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy can generally help with most emotional problems an individual is finding hard to cope with, and some physical problems can also be effectively treated with hypnosis too, such as IBS and insomnia. However, it’s important for an individual to consult their GP before approaching a hypnotherapist if they suffer from clinical depression, epilepsy or schizophrenia.  Common issues that have been successfully treated using hypnotherapy and curative hypnotherapy include:

  • Anxiety
  • Smoking
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME
  • Weight Loss
  • Lack of confidence
  • IBS
  • Insomnia
  • Fertility

Stop Smoking treatment

The Stop Smoking treatment takes approximately 1 ½ hours.    All that is required is that the individual  WANTS  to stop smoking.  They might be nervous, that’s ok, but as long as the desire to stop is in place then it is successful.
