The British Heart Foundation is the nation’s heart charity. Their vision is a world where people don’t die prematurely from heart disease. They aim to achieve this through pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease.
Part of their strategy is to raise awareness on an individual level, as well as with organisations, on the importance of mental wellbeing as a preventative measure against heart disease. Reiki, reflexology, massage, yoga and meditation are recommended by the charity for their great stress-busting abilities (see Health at Work – Individual Level).
So how can you join in the fundraising activities this month? We have a few ideas for you…
Why not show your support and buy one of the BHF pin badges? They’re available from every BHF high street shop for just £1.
Our new Personal Stylist and Image Consultant Victoria Lochhead is donating 20% of profits on all February colour consultations to National Heart Month. If you’ve been thinking of having your colours done, you can find out more about what’s involved on the Personal Styling page. It’s a great way to help yourself to look and feel better (all part of loving yourself), whilst helping a very worthwhile cause!
