Pregnancy Yoga

The transition to motherhood is the most significant change in a woman’s life and is celebrated in many cultures.

Yoga is being increasingly recognised as an ideal preparation for birth. It enables a woman to remain fully present and conscious during pregnancy and birth. Yoga helps a woman to better prepare physically, emotionally and spiritually for her new role as a mother.

Pregnancy Yoga classes run at The Wellbeing Centre on Wednesday evenings 18:30 – 19:30 with Elena O’Keeffe (see below for details).

For many women pregnancy and preparing for the arrival of a new life can be a time of uncertainty. These birth preparation sessions have been specifically created to offer simple and effective techniques which can empower and support both mums-to-be and their partners through a wonderful journey into parenthood.

Elena O’Keeffe is fully qualified antenatal and postnatal yoga teacher with life-long passion for pregnancy and birth. She has had three children of her own and is currently completing a midwifery training. In 2008 she became a co-founder of perinatal yoga training The Mother’s Journey.
