The Wellbeing Centre hosts a variety of community groups as well as offering the perfect relaxing and comfortable environment for a growing range of gentle exercise, meditation, antenatal and mum and baby classes.

Classes description

Yoga & Gentle Exercise Classes

Hatha Yoga with Meltem
Tuesdays 18:30 – 19:45
Hatha yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical postures and exercises (asanas), controlled breathing, and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation. £10 per session (6 for £50). Read more >>

Tuesdays 20:30 – 21:30
Empowering women to be their most strong, sexy & confident with a whole body workout. These relaxed, fun exercise classes could be described as a cross between yoga & ballet. £10 per class (6 for £50). Read more >>

Women’s Circle with Diana Dolton

Mindful Meditations with Sheila Bond
Fridays 12:00 – 13:00
You’ve heard of Dress Down Friday, now try Stress Down Friday! Take an hour out of your busy week to find some peace before the week-end. A drop-in mindful meditation class on Fridays from 12:00 – 13:00.  The class is suitable for those new to mindfulness as well as those who have already attended a course. £10 per class. Read more >>

Mindfulness Course with Sheila Bond
Fridays 13:30 – 15:00 (8 wk course)
Finding Peace in a Frantic World. This course, developed by Professor Mark Williams from the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, introduces mindfulness in a structured way so that over a few weeks you are able to build up a range of mindfulness tools to help reduce your stress and suffering and improve your wellbeing.  £140 per course, plus £10 for materials, which includes a handbook and three audio CDs or a flash drive. Sanctuary Meditation with Phil Gowler
Fridays 18:30 – 19:30
De-stress for the weekend and find your Sanctuary. Tough week? Boss chasing you non-stop? Difficult clients? This is a semi-guided meditation, where you create a place you can go that is always safe and always comfortable. Starts March 2017. £10 per session.

Hypnobirthing Antenatal Classes with Claire Bushell
Thursdays 19:00 – 21:30 (4wk course)
Hypnobirthing is a completely logical and extremely effective method that lets you discover the joy and magic of childbirth. Soundly based in established anatomy, physiology and psychology, hypnobirthing will teach you to use your natural instincts in order to have a safer, easier and more comfortable birth. £250 per course (includes course materials & mp4s plus ongoing support). Pregnancy Yoga Classes with Elena O’Keeffe
Wednesdays 18:30 – 19:30
£10 per class
For many women pregnancy and preparing for the arrival of a new life can be a time of uncertainty. These birth preparation sessions have been specifically created to offer simple and effective techniques which can empower and support both mums-to-be and their partners through a wonderful journey into parenthood. Elena O’Keeffe is fully qualified antenatal and postnatal yoga teacher with life-long passion for pregnancy and birth. She has had three children of her own and is currently completing a midwifery training.

Newbury Breastfeeding Support Group is a friendly group meeting weekly at The Wellbeing Centre, Newbury. The group is run by Breastfeeding Network (BfN) Supporters & Helpers and we often have local lactation consultants, independent midwives and doulas attending. Read more >>
