Blackboard Wisdom

The blackboard on the front door at The Wellbeing Centre has become a quirky way we connect with the outside world. Everyday the practitioner who is covering reception writes a short quote or some of their own words of wisdom on the blackboard. Having started this as just something fun to do with the blackboard (as it was previously our original way of advertising that we have a drop-in reception Monday to Friday 9.30am – 2.30pm), it has become a conversation starter and a way that people feel connected with us.  People see the words of wisdom from outside and these words seem to help them somehow during their day or encourage them to come in and have a chat and find out what we are doing here.  We have had joggers passing by stop, run in for some leaflets and run out again;  pensioners come in looking for yoga and meditation; and a range of other people just coming in for a chat and gain more knowledge and understanding of the range of therapies that are available.

As the blackboard has become so popular we thought we would extend its words of wisdom to all you here (and pinterest users can visit our “Blackboard Wisdom” board to see a selection of photos of our blackboard).  Whenever the board is changed you can read what we have written and also get a bit more information on that quote!  So for those of you who enjoy it, come here for some daily direction.
